First Day of School

Avery's first day of school was supposed to be September 7th, but for some reason we decided to not send her off for her first day while I was at the hospital having a baby :) So she stayed home that week while we all adjusted to having Oliver around, and then on Sunday night she developed a fever so no school on Monday either! The fever stuck around til Tuesday, and they have a policy that you don't send your child to school within 24 hours of having a fever (which is great, I think), so it was Thursday September 16th before Avery finally had her first day of school!! But she was very excited!
These pictures are actually from Friday though... we missed the bus on Thursday because the bus driver apparently didn't know which house was ours! And Daddy was home on Friday, which made it easier to take pictures :) So we were up bright and early for the 7:10am bus! Avery has breakfast at school, which was actually one of the things she was most excited about!
She has been enjoying school so far! And for those of you who remember that we were thinking about not sending her to school at all this year, we reached a compromise that we're quite happy with so far. Avery goes to school in the mornings with her classmates, but she is only staying for half a day. So instead of going 7:45am-2:45pm, she's only there 7:45am-11:05am, which is great! And when I sat down with her teacher to talk about it, she mentioned that she wouldn't be missing anything that way anyway, since after that it's basically just lunch, nap time, play time and snack time! So hooray :) She is very happy, and we are happy so far too.

So great to hear school has been so positive for Avery so far, hope we have the same experience with Violet next year.

Congratulations on Oliver's birth!

Sounds like a great school plan - meets the criteria for keeping the important people happy!
