Giant Puddle

A couple of weeks ago we had a big rain storm. It started raining sometime during the night, I think, and by lunch time, our patio was a pond! Water did come in under the door, but luckily it wasn't more than 2 towels could handle, and I ran out and threw down a couple of sand bags to keep the rest out.
When I showed Avery the puddle through the dining room window, she immediately wanted to go out and play it. The sun had come out by then, and it wasn't raining anymore, but at first I told her she would have to wait til Daddy got home. Then Brogan saw it, and I had two extremely excited little ones, so I changed my mind and took them both outside to play.
I was so glad that I didn't make them wait til Gabe got home, because by the time he arrived, it was almost gone!!
They had so much fun!!!  Splashing, and running, and pretending to catch fish, and holding worms, it was great :)
Splash Splash!

Easter 2011

I am planning on playing catch up this week, but I will start with the newest :)
We had a really great Easter weekend at our house. Besides the fact that Gabe got poison oak all over his arms, that is! We had a fundraiser yard sale/bake sale at our house yesterday to raise money for Avery's therapy, and it went really great! I didn't get any pictures because we were so busy that I completely forgot about the camera until it was over! But it was a lot of fun, and we raised a lot more money than we were expecting. Thank You to all of those who donated items to sell, and to all of those who came out and bought cakes and cookies and stuff! We appreciate you all so much. And to the anonymous angel who left the note on our door... Thank you. So much.
Today I got asked last minute to fill in for one of the teachers in Primary at church, and it turned out to be just wonderful. I felt blessed to be there, and my faith in Jesus Christ was renewed. Thank you to the lovely people who put on such a wonderful presentation for our children.
Here is a video of the Easter egg hunt we did after we got home. We did it in the driveway because it was more walker-friendly, and also because it was a little cooler! It was fun :) Please excuse all the yard sale debris... we were too exhausted to finish getting everything cleared up last night!!

Little Feet Meet

Avery had her very first school field trip today :) She got to participate in Little Feet Meet, a sports event for children with special needs, sponsored by Special Olympics Virginia.
Avery arrives with her classmates! We had to wait a loooooooong time for this :)
A friend lent me her Cricut machine for the week, and I had a lot of fun with it :)
Avery's first event!
This was one of the cutest things ever! Without any prompting, all the little ones started cheering for each other :) Adorable!

The award ceremony at the end! They each got a ribbon and a card stamped with all the events they did! Such a great event :)
