Avery's little secret...

Remember how I mentioned that Avery had been doing things to show us that she didn't need surgery? Well, here is a little taste of what she's randomly been doing this past week!

Crazy exciting, right??! And side stepping????  Since when could she ever do that??! Amazing!
It does make me excited (tentatively) about what she might be able to do once those pesky ankles (and possibly hamstrings) are loosened up!

This time next week Avery will have completed all her pre-op stuff, and will be sleeping and fasting in preparation for her surgery...! The anesthesiology people called me yesterday, and we were all very happy to find out that Avery will actually be asleep before they do her IV! I think that was actually one of the parts she was most nervous about, because she hates having IVs put in. Avery was, however, a little disappointed when I told her that she would still be asleep when they put the casts on her legs!! Apparently she wanted to be awake for that part, "because it won't hurt!"

It's not only the walking but the balance and the trying over and over which is so amazing. She's a complete inspiration.

I adore her sweetness and that smile. It's exciting what's in store for her with this surgery. Praying all goes well and the hoped for results will come.
