Since our first playdate with Elena, we’ve seen them two more times. Things are going very well, and Avery loves seeing her! So far, they seem to be getting along very well, which is lovely to see, and I have high hopes for their friendship!
As for me, I am really enjoying getting to know Elena’s Mom, Amy. I find it really interesting to talk about the different decisions we’ve made for our girls, and there is something comforting in spending time with someone who really gets what it’s like to be Mom to such amazing girls.
Brogan is only 2 or 3 months older than Vivian, and they are both enthusiastic extroverts, so get along very well!
We had planned a sleepover for the following trip, but we had to cancel at the last minutes because Oliver had HFM disease. Avery and Brogan were practically heartbroken! But we plan on rescheduling it as soon as our calendars coordinate, and it worked out for the best because we both lost power that night anyway!
Last time we went up, it was just Avery and I! I dropped the boys off at a friend’s house for an hour or so while Gabe was at his class, and then they got to spend the rest of the day with Dad while Avery and I were in Charlottesville for therapy and a visit with Elena. It was great, and Amy had an amazing craft all set up for them to do! I haven’t taken a picture of it yet, but will post one as soon as I can. I didn’t get any pictures until we were leaving, I was too busy talking to Amy I suppose! But Avery was a very happy girl, and we’re both looking forward to next time!
