Yorktown Victory Center
There were lots of fun ducks and birds to look at and chase :)
This was the kitchen house - complete with salted pigs ears and dried vegetables hanging from the ceiling! Brogan didn't want to pose for the picture. "Don't take any more pictures of me, Mom."
We met a cute family from Ohio. They had three girls, and they were wearing different colours of the exact same shirt I almost put on Avery that morning! They were very cute, and the girls pushed Avery's walker for her when she got too tired and asked Dad to pick her up :)
A big storm was rolling in, so all the outside areas were closed and we headed inside.
The storm passed, and we made our way outside to the camp for a canon demonstration.
As always, Brogan loved making new friends :) Avery stayed outside for a few minutes and looked at the canon, but then retreated to the quiet of the indoors because she didn't want to hear the loud bang :) Oliver went too. Brogan stayed with his new friends, but kept his hands firmly clamped over his ears :)
I was actually a little surprised by how LOUD it was!!! It was too much for our littlest new friend who clung to her Daddy's legs for the next few minutes, but Brogan didn't freak out, and I was really glad that Avery and Oliver were watching from the window :)
Time for a picture with a soldier :) These boys of ours... they love puddles and mud and mess.... Shocker, I know!!
Buttons and lights are "cool stuff" :) Oliver turned into a train when he found train tracks bordering the sidewalk :) And then there were BUGS!! SO great :)
Oliver is very trusting and loves jumping off steps and walls into our arms :) That kept him entertained, and Avery and Brogan had a little quiet time playing on the phones while we waited for the trolley.
Then it was time to take the scenic route to Jamestown to take the ferry all the way to Scotland..... haha
Ferry from Jamestown to Scotland
We had a really fun time on the ferry :) Water, wind, seagulls, cormorants... doesn't really get any better, right? :)
All three children loved it!
Oliver was enthralled!
Giving goldfish crackers to the seagulls. Is that bad?? I kept on trying to get Oliver to throw them up for the birds to catch, but he just wanted to feed the birds on the floor :)
Brogan enjoyed throwing them up to the flying birds though :)
On the way back to the hotel, Dad spotted an amazing park next to the road and we stopped to play for a while.
Brogan immediately made a new friend :)
It really was a super fun park :) The boys enjoyed this slide, but right after the last picture was taken Oliver fell and bonked his head :(
Avery did lots of walking around, but her feet and legs were hurting afterwards.
Cute children :)
Spinning on the swing :)
Oliver tried out the little kid section of the park. I love those curls! I just can't bring myself to cut them off just yet :) He's getting so big, climbing up ladders all by himself!
He spent the rest of the time going down slides backwards... he didn't want to spin around and hurt himself again! He is such a cutie :)
"Go!! GooOOOOooOoO!!" said Oliver. I thought he meant that he wanted me to go. Silly me. What he actually wanted was for me to come with him :) Grown ups are so annoying when they don't understand :)
Zipline! Such a fun park :) The boys loved this! Brogan did it a few times all by himself, besides a little push to get started :)
